The broad vision that brought the founding members together was one of a football club that was owned by our community and represented the community’s civic, social and cultural identity.
City of Liverpool FC are pleased to confirm the signings of defenders Tom Morris and Jack Walls.
Both players featured for 90 minutes in Saturday’s NPL West division fixture against Marine and signed after playing in a friendly against Macclesfield last Tuesday.
Morris, a centre-back, came through the youth ranks at Port Vale before spells at Stafford Rangers, Kidsgrove and Congleton Town.
The 26-year-old made 7 appearances this season for NPL Premier Division side Hyde United, before signing for Macclesfield in the middle of September.
Tom now joins City of Liverpool from the Silkmen and made an impressive start to life in a Purps shirt despite defeat at Marine on Saturday.
Jack Walls is a 20-year-old right back who is a product of Liverpool Academy, progressing up to U23 football before leaving the Reds at the end of the 2020-21 season.
Walls featured at right back on Saturday and linked well with winger Jay Murphy (below), offering an attacking outlet on the counter-attack.
Jack was part of the Liverpool squad which won the FA Youth Cup in 2019, featuring in a number of rounds as his side progressed to the final where they won a nail-biting penalty shoot-out at Manchester City to lift the cup.
We are sure all supporters will join us in welcoming Tom and Jack to the club.
