City of Liverpool FC are delighted to announce the signing of James Murphy from Ramsbottom United.
The talented forward came through the youth ranks at Chester and Connah’s Quay, before moving to Airbus where he initially played academy football.
The youngster broke into The Wingmakers’ first team in 2015/16 and impressed considerably, making 35 appearances across two seasons and winning the Welsh Premier League Young Player of the Year accolade in 2016.
Murphy briefly represented Newtown before moving to Rhyl where he scored an impressive 21 goals in 55 appearances, and then signed for NWCFL Premier Division side Litherland Remyca in early 2020 after leaving The Lilywhites.
This season, Murphy was a new signing at Ramsbottom and has shone at Northern Premier League West division level, scoring an impressive 6 goals in 10 games for The Rams.
James made his Purps debut with a lively cameo off the bench during Tuesday night’s home fixture against 1874 Northwich, and almost equalised at the death with a close-range snapshot which drifted narrowly wide.
We are sure all supporters will join us in welcoming James to the Purps.
