City of Liverpool FC are delighted to announce that midfielder Jack Hazlehurst has committed to the Club for the forthcoming 2021-22 campaign.
Affectionately known by supporters as “The Purple Messi”, Hazlehurst signed from Liverpool Football College in 2017 and has gone on to play 112 games, scoring 38 goals for the club.
Last season Jack was in fine form for Michael Ellison’s side, scoring 6 goals in 13 games as football ended prematurely due to the pandemic. Jack’s virtuoso performances saw him score crucial goals in our FA Trophy run, with an opportunistic strike against Atherton Collieries, and a brace at Buxton including a late wondergoal which saw the Purps win the tie 2-1.
Manager Michael Ellison is pleased to retain Hazlehurst as preparations step up ahead of pre-season training, “I’m delighted to have Jack on board for this season.”
“He’s been excellent since I walked through the door and he’s an integral part of what we’re trying to do here. I’ve no doubt there is still a lot more to come from him and that he will play a huge part in us reaching our targets for this season”
Hazlehurst added, “I’m made up to commit to the Purps for Season 2021/22. I love the club & the supporters and just can’t wait to get back in Pre-Season and play my part in the team under Ello.”
